Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem (2007)

It’s hard to describe the form and content of Sound of Silver in a phrase that services the many levels by which you can explore its complexity (Maybe electronic dance punk with heart?). That’s because LCD Soundsystem is one of the most singular bands of its era. Various genres, tones, and points of view compete for attention and then somehow coalesce into one, harmonious vision.
Widely considered to be one of the best albums of the 2000s, Sound of Silver is both a danceable party record for extroverts and a bittersweet headphones record for a lonely night in the bedroom. It’s profound and goofy. It’s funny and devastating. It’s smart and simple. It punches you in the face with satire and then embraces you like it might be your last night on earth. The album offers anything and everything.
Let’s grab dim sum and drinks at Bao before a night time drive on the town.
